I qualified for the Red Bull Crashed Ice Challenge!!!

| The 2006 course in Quebec City |
Victoria, BC;
I'm stocked!!!!! I will be returning to Quebec next March to attempt a huge competition, but this time I will be
trading my bike for ice skates!
The Red Bull Crashed Ice, is a combination between hockey, downhill ice skating
and boardercross. Qualifications are held in each of the 14 major cities of Canada and the 85 fastest skaters out
of the 1400 registered get to go to Quebec city for the official event.
I showed up last week end at the Victoria Pearkes arena, where the ice rink was turned into a obstacle course and
managed to qualify!!! On top of that, Red Bull is paying for my plane ticket and lodging, how cool is that?!?! :)
After a huge success in 2006, the Red Bull Crashed Ice event returns to Quebec city on March 2nd and 3rd, 2007. Last year,
30 000 spectators (bring back the Nordiques!!!) were present to watch competitors from all over the country battle for the
$10,000 prize purse on the 450m downhill ice-track featuring berms, turns, whoops, jumps and steep chutes!!!
I'm so excited, I can't wait to get upthere and go down the course, it's going to be a blast! I'm confident I can do good,
my race experience added to my downhill and BMX skills will certainly help me over the other competitors.
If you
don't know what the event is exactly, take a moment to
watch some of the videos on the official website http://www.redbullcrashedice.ca/en/video.htm
it's worth it!
