Bromont, QC;
Jeeeez, what a stressful weekend! I must have spent 12 hours working on my bike over the weekend! Fixing little mechanic failures, doing some fine
tuning, trying to find the perfect suspension setup, changing parts... (yeah my fork let me down again) anyway I'm not going to go through all the details,
but one thing for sure, I wish I had a mechanic!
Racing is not easy and can be very stressfull when you wanna do good. There's a lot more aspects involved than just riding a bike down the hill.
Making sure your bike is 100% is just one of those many aspects around racing... not only for performance-wise, but also for your confident and
your peace of mind. That's something I learned with years, I want my bike to be at his best on the starting line, even if it means going to sleep
at 2am to make sure everything is top notch.
Tremblant's course has been the same for many years, but is still exciting to ride. Some sections of the course were improved this year, making the
course faster in those sections to everyone's joy. Around 300 racers showed up, which proves that racing in Quebec is alive and well!

My race
After my 2nd place last year in Tremblant, I was confident I could do good this year. But after all the problems I had during the weekend, I was
less and less confident. I was only able to do one run on Friday and 4 on Saturday and since my fork was busted I couldn't practice as fast and
as good as I wanted. So, I came to a point where I had not much expectations and all I was wishing is to have fun! So, after switching my fork
on Saturday night (thanks to Charles-Alexandre Dubé) I went for a couple of drinks at the Caribou (a classic night club in the Tremblant village)
and suddently I started to feel the pressure and the stress being reliefed finally! I woke up Sunday morning with a smile and I was anxious
to race. I ended with a 7th place, which I was okay with... I mean considering the weekend I had, it was pretty good.
The winner
Congratulations to Justin Brown (Cycles Solutions) who took the win and proved that is 2nd place in Bromont wasn't luck! My team mate Luke Kitzanuk
did very good too, placing his Giant Glory DH in 2nd place. Another great story of the weekend is Sports aux Puces rider Hans Lambert's 3rd place!
Hans is still a junior and he showed to everyone that he can already ride with the big boys!
