What I've been up to

Séminaire St-Francois in Mt. Ste-Anne
Bromont, QC; Last Friday, I had the chance to coach in Mt. Ste-Anne for the first time. About 20 students from the Séminaire St-Francois school showed up for a full downhill action day. I had the help of Marie-Ève Marcotte, 2007 Quebec Cup overall champion, which allowed us to split the group in two. It was quiet a challenge for those students! Mt. Ste-Anne is pretty rough, long and there isnt much beginner trails as well. I have to admit I was really impressionned with some of them! One of the fastest rider in my group was actually a girl! It was something to see her ride! If biking was lucrative like hockey, I would become her agent and train her for the worlds trust me!

Conference
Conference During lunch, I had the chance to do a conference about my passion; how I started, what I've gone through, my lifestyle and the importance of making life choices based on things they like. I also played my 2006 promo video and some clips from this year's Mt. Ste-Anne world cup. Marie-Ève concluded the conference by sharing her hability to deal with stress. Quiet surprisingly for people of their ages, everyone was attentive and many asked question which made the conference a success. We went back on the mountain until 3pm and when the kids left, Marie-Ève and I ride the mountain for the rest of the day. Other than racing, I rarely have the chance to ride Ste-Anne just for fun and it was a blast! It's always great to ride different trails.

Coaching school sport program
Coaching I've been coaching quiet often lately at the National Cyclist Center of Bromont, thanks to Sébastien Travers for this opportunity. With the awesome weather of the past 2 months, lots of schools have decided to organized bike activities. Kids show up in the morning at the Center and we ride BMX, cross country and road. Lucky them! I wish I had access to a Center like this when I was younger! But I can't complain, coaching outdoor and riding bikes all day long is a lot more fun than the office job I've done for years hehe :)

St-Laurent CEGEP
Progression bike coaching I also had the chance to help 5 guys of the St-Laurent CEGEP through my coaching business. They have to take part in different activities through out their program and last week end they choose to discover the sport of downhill moutain biking. We spent half of the day together, where I showed them the basic techniques and they were then ready to go on their own during the after noon. They had a blast as you can see on the picutre. One of them is already thinking about buying a bike, how cool is that! :)
